If Betty White’s “Saturday Night Live” hosting gig becomes a reality – the iconic comedienne might have some company.

While Betty is reportedly “this close” to her first hosting gig, she wouldn’t be taking the stage alone.

According to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello, the folks at “SNL” are considering a “Women of Comedy” episode that could include the likes of Betty, along with “SNL” alums Molly Shannon, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, a grassroots Facebook fan campaign was launched earlier this month begging “SNL” brass to get the former “Golden Girl” on their stage.

The “Betty White To Host SNL (please?)!” fan page currently boasts over 427,000 supporters.

In an interview with Matt Donnelly of the LA Times, White said she’s ready to go “Live from New York” – it’s just up to the man who created “Saturday Night Live.”

“That would be up to Lorne Michaels,” she said at the time.

When contacted by Access Hollywood, a rep for Betty wasn’t immediately available for comment on the story.

Thanks Access Hollywood.

The gay rodeo champion who was evicted from the “Big Brother 10″ house has found a new use for his assless chaps — dude is officially entering the world of gay porn.

18 months after he was evicted from the “BB” house, Steven Daigle was so comfortable in front of the cameras, he decided to sign on to a man-on-man-on-man sex tape with a company called C1R.com. We’re told Daigle was approached with the idea by porn director Chi Chi LaRue – who originally met Daigle at a “Big Brother” wrap party. Daigle tells us, “I didn’t expect my life to take this path, but when I was presented with the opportunity, I dove in head first… literally.”As for the footage, we’re told most of the film is already in the can

I can’t believe this show is still on the air. Does anyone really care? Learned exclusively that Liza Minnelli is joining the cast of “Ugly Betty” this season.

The Broadway and Hollywood icon begins work next week and will be appearing in multiple episodes later this season, say sources.

Our set insiders tell us Liza will be playing Lena Korvinka, a high school drama teacher at Justin’s (played by Mark Indelicato) school.

Liza has an intense filming schedule that begins in Brooklyn on January 28th and runs until February 12th, the sources say.

“There were massive rumors last year, then again in early January that Liza was being courted for the show, but Liza originally hadn’t planned to do the show. ‘Ugly Betty’ producers presented her with a great offer and a hilarious story and they kept coming back to her,” said our source. “She’s going to be playing an outrageous drama teacher and it is going to be fun! Liza is excited to be playing another off-the-wall character like Lucille 2 on ‘Arrested Development’.”

Liza was going to have knee replacement surgery at the end of January, but due to the ‘Ugly Betty’ schedule, it looks like she’s put that on hold. “She’s a professional and everyone is excited for her first day!” our insider said.

A spokesman for Liza Minnelli told Fox411.com that he had no knowledge of Minnelli’s involvement with the hit show and said she was not currently on board.

“Liza is a fan of ‘Ugly Betty’ but I am not aware of any current plans for her to join the cast,” said the rep.

Emails to ABC were not returned.

“Ugly Betty” went from a weak Friday time slot to a stronger place on ABC’s Wednesday night comedy schedule at 10PM this fall. So producers, including show star America Ferrera and Executive Producer Salma Hayek, are doing their best to bring in big names.

“Salma has her eye on the what’s happening at all times, and she’s an involved woman in the production process. I wouldn’t rule out a chance that she will be back on the show as well,” said our insider. “The cast, crew and writers of the show are working hard to regain their following after the Friday night graveyard time slot.”

Thanks Fox411.

In scary news on this Christmas eve…. Senate Democrats passed a landmark health care bill Thursday that could define President Barack Obama’s legacy and usher in near-universal medical coverage for the first time in the country’s history.

The 60-39 vote on a cold Christmas Eve morning capped months of arduous negotiations and 24 days of floor debate. It also followed a succession of failures by past congresses to get to this point. Vice President Joe Biden presided as 58 Democrats and two independents voted “yes.” Republicans unanimously voted “no.”

The tally far exceeded the simple majority required for passage.

The Senate’s bill must still be merged with legislation passed by the House before Obama could sign a final bill in the new year. There are significant differences between the two measures but Democrats say they’ve come too far now to fail.

Both bills would extend health insurance to more than 30 million more Americans.

Vicki Kennedy, the widow of the late Massachusetts Sen. Edward Kennedy, who made health reform his life’s work, watched the vote from the gallery.

“This morning isn’t the end of the process, it’s merely the beginning. We’ll continue to build on this success to improve our health system even more,” Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said before the vote. “But that process cannot begin unless we start today … there may not be a next time.”

At a news conference a few moments later, Reid said the vote “brings us one step closer to making Ted Kennedy’s dream a reality.”

The Nevadan said that “every step of this long process has been an enormous undertaking.”

Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., chairman of the Finance Committee, said he “very happy to see people getting health care they could not get.”

The House passed its own measure in November. The White House and Congress have now come further toward the goal of a comprehensive overhaul of the nation’s health care system than any of their predecessors.

The legislation would ban the insurance industry from denying benefits or charging higher premiums on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions. The Congressional Budget Office predicts the bill will reduce deficits by $130 billion over the next 10 years, an estimate that assumes lawmakers carry through on hundreds of billions of dollars in planned cuts to insurance companies and doctors, hospitals and others who treat Medicare patients.

For the first time, the government would require nearly every American to carry insurance, and subsidies would be provided to help low-income people to do so. Employers would be induced to cover their employees through a combination of tax credits and penalties.

Republicans were withering in their criticism of what they deemed a budget-busting government takeover. If the measure were worthwhile, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., contended before the vote, “they wouldn’t be rushing it through Congress on Christmas Eve.”

The occasion was moving for many who’d followed Kennedy, who died in August.

“He’s having a merry Christmas in Heaven,” Sen. Paul Kirk, D-Mass., appointed to fill Kennedy’s seat, told reporters after the tally.

Kirk said he was “humbled to be here with the honor of casting essentially his vote.”

Thanks Breitbart.

Blago a NO-GO on Celebrity Apprentice?

I wish Joan Rivers was on again this season. Prosecutors are expected to ask a federal judge to bar ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich from appearing on Donald Trump’s “The Celebrity Apprentice” reality TV show.

U.S. District Judge James B. Zagel will preside over Monday’s hearing. Earlier this year, Zagel refused to let Blagojevich go to Costa Rica to participate in NBC’s “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!” reality TV show. In his place, his wife joined the cast.

The former governor’s corruption trial is set to get under way in June, and Trump’s reality show is expected to air in spring 2010.

Blagojevich (blah-GOY’-uh-vich) has pleaded not guilty to accusations that he tried to sell or trade President Barack Obama’s former U.S. Senate seat.

Golden Globe winner James Franco will be filming a guest spot on…General Hospital.  ABC Soaps in Depth is reporting that the star of Milk will be working for two months on the show.  This may come as a surprise to many simply because while many big-name stars have started on soap operas, many do not choose to go back once they’ve garnered A-list status.  Apparently, Franco’s role is part of research for an upcoming film.  Details are minimal, but reports say Franco will be playing the role of a mysterious man visiting the town of Port Charles.  His role begins on November 23.  No matter the reason, this is surely going to beef up the ratings for the ABC show.

The Newlywed Game” is bringing on its first gay couple.

It’s a celebrity duo for the long-running game show, now on the GSN cable network. George Takei, who played Mr. Sulu on “Star Trek,” will appear with his partner, Brad Altman. They just celebrated their first anniversary after being married in Los Angeles.

Takei and Altman have been together for 22 years, so they’re nothing like the giggly young couples who appeared on the first version of the show.

The new edition of “The Newlywed Game” began airing on GSN a year ago and has been a ratings success. Singer Carnie Wilson has replaced Bob Eubanks as host.

Woo Hoo! New York hometown hero, David Letterman is king of late-night television again.

You just won’t hear him or CBS crowing about it anytime soon not after NBC gave the crown to Conan O’Brien based on one week’s ratings, much to their regret now. Letterman started his vacation last week with a four-week winning streak, the first since 1995.

It just all goes to show that late-night TV is experiencing remarkable changes in viewing habits, with more than Letterman and O’Brien in the mix. They’re even competing with machines; DVR playbacks of prime-time shows is a growing habit.

Experience shows the folly of counting O’Brien out too early. Still, can NBC truly be happy with a show that appears to turn off such a large segment of viewers?

Many of Leno’s older viewers have migrated to Letterman, although the CBS host’s audience gain doesn’t match what O’Brien has lost. Some have turned to ABC News’ “Nightline,” which has also seen its ratings go up.

Stay tuned.

Commentary: You got to love Glenn Beck for causing such an ire among the radical elite, especially Barbara Walters. He used tactics made popular by Liberals who shout and hiss to get their point across or in hilarious cases sick the ACLU on you if you mention Charlton Heston. One must wonder will Harry Reasoner get the last laugh? Antiqued Barbara Walters decided to take a biased view for the umpteenth time against Fox News and its commentators. (Hanging around with Nancy Pelosi and her doctors isn’t a great influence for the face Ms. Walters.)

It is a well known fact that in the news world, commentators are free to opine but when you are a “supposed” journalist there is a code of ethics. A code of impartiality. Ms. Walters broke this code long ago with the hiring of Rosie O’Donnell and now with Whoopi Goldberg. It’s funny when you long for the un-slanted days of Meredith Vieira. …

Tori Spelling Too Thin? Urgh!

Is she too skinny again? No not Kathie Lee Gifford the other one.  Yet, in May, Tori Spelling blamed the media for her weight loss, saying she felt pressured to slim down after giving birth. She said, “The first time I went out after I had Liam, the paparazzi were around and I remember trying to hold my stomach in, even though my muscles were shot to hell…”

Well I think the paparazzi are still there. She doesn’t look right.
