What a kiss! A western Pennsylvania woman has been ordered to stand trial on charges she passed a drug-filled balloon to a state prison inmate while kissing him. State police said guards at the State Correctional Institution-Mercer became suspicious when an inmate appeared to swallow something after a prolonged kiss with a visitor on Oct. 19.

When the inmate wouldn’t tell guards what he swallowed, they put him in a cell where they could monitor his bathroom visits and found a balloon filled with marijuana three days later.

Police charged the inmate, and the woman with conspiracy to smuggle contraband and other charges. Both are 41 years old.

A district judge ordered them to stand trial at a hearing on Monday.

Thanks My Way.

The winner is  Kris Allen

Who deserved to win this season of “American Idol,” Adam Lambert or Kris Allen? Obviously from prior post it has been Adam Lambert in our opinion. Nothing against Kriss Allen but we’ve seen the boring white boy win everythign before.

It’s a matter of taste really. Lambert’s glam rock charisma filled performances and Kris Allen’s boy next door 1990′s college rock dueling. Each had breakthrough moments, hit high notes, and survived the “Idol” commissioned song that is supposed to serve as the winner’s first hit single, yet somehow rarely suits either finalist.

The highlight for me was Adam’s duet with Kiss… doesn’t get much better than that. Kris and Keith Urban did a great job but in my mind was super bland. It’s funny how he went country to make it a red state/blue state fight… It  always seems to end back to a politcal match. Cyndi Lauper and Alison Iraheta did a great version of “Time After Time.” Finally, the trainwreck of the night has to go to Lil Rounds and Queen Latifah… that was super super painful. I think the Queen sounds better in a “controlled” enviroment.

Anyhow, it seems to me that American Idol flew by this year which might be a good thing for a show that is finally showing its age. It’s getting too slick and too manufactured for it’s own benefit! But congrats to both contestants!
